 Somaliland secured more than $221 million in foreign aid and development funding throughout 2024, according to a report released by the Ministry of Planning and National Development.
The assistance underscores growing international confidence in Somaliland’s stability and governance, with funds directed toward health, education, infrastructure, and humanitarian relief.International humanitarian organizations led contributions, delivering $119.5 million to support emergency response and long-term development programs.
The United Nations provided $79.3 million, focusing on strengthening public services and protecting vulnerable communities.The Somaliland Development Fund (SDF) allocated $10.45 million for economic infrastructure, rural development, and public administration reforms.
The World Bank contributed $9.17 million to initiatives aimed at economic resilience and social progress.Germany’s development agency, GIZ, added $3.29 million in technical assistance and institutional capacity-building programs.
The report highlights sustained partnerships with global donors and signals continued momentum in Somaliland’s push for greater international recognition and investment.
