President inaugurates Dan iyo Duco Boarding Schools

The President H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud Silanyo inaugurated two boarding schools at Dabayl-weine and Dubur in Sheikh District of Sahil region.

The Head of State hailed the facilitators of the project that gave rise to the schools known as the “Dan iyo Duco” boarding schools. He lauded the brains behind the project and also those who availed the factors of its production.

While praising such programs that built the country, the President said that the state would always be at hand to give support to such project so that they operate and at the same time called for similar programs that are positive to both the people and the country to take root elsewhere in the nation.

The Dan and Du’o committee are the sponsors of the project.

The President who was flanked by the First Lady Amina Sheik Mohammed Jirde (Amina Weris) comprised of all the three Presidential contenders Messrs. Musa Bihi Abdi, Abdirahman Irro and Jamal Ali of Kulmiye, Wadani and Ucid respectively; the Presidency minister Hon. M.H. Abdi, Finance Hon. Zamzam, Health minister Hon. S.I. Hagletosie, FM. Hon. S.A. Shire, Planning minister Hon. Ali Shombe, Justice Hon. Adarre and Education deputy minister and Information deputy minister Hon. Shukri Harir.

Mayors of Sheikh, Berbera and Hargeisa were also present.

Most of the above plus several tradition leaders and intellectuals amongst the area community had the opportunity to address the large gathering of attentive audience.

The entourage had a hiccup when one of the vehicles in their convoy was involved in an accident along the Berbera-Hargeisa highway on their way back to the capital.

The parliamentary speaker Hon. Abdirahman Irro’s guards had their car crash against a Toyota Vitz mini car in which three personnel were injured. The sole driver and commuter in the in the van was said to be in a more serious condition.

Upon reaching the accident site the President prayed for the casualties wishing them well.

They were swiftly carried away to Hargeisa Group Hospital.
