The party won’t accept tribally forwarded candidates

Hargeisa (THT) The chairman of the ruling party “KULMIYE” Hon Muse Bihi Abdi has told fellow politicians they should be patient and not to rush things because time isn’t ripe yet.

Hon Muse Bihi Abdi went on to say, “It’s the duty of political organization to choose and forward the names of candidates to represent the ruling party when the time comes and not the work of clans.

The chairman of the ruling party reiterated that candidates can only declare their candidacy after the national electoral commission announces the date of elections speaking during the 5th Somaliland Journalist Association general meeting.

“I would like to urge you (Politicians) our party won’t accept any candidate suggested by his clan neither has the national electoral commission announced the date of election”, Hon Muse Bihi said.

The statement by ruling party chairman comes at a time more and more citizens are holding events in almost all major cities of the country announcing their intentions to vie for political position in the upcoming general elections.
