Tanzania Women Bank offers Banking Programmes to Several African Nations

Entrepreneurs from Somalia, South Somaliland and South Sudan were in the country for training on banking industry operations over the weekend.

The training provided by the Tanzania Women Bank (TWB) was aimed at helping them to learn about operations of the banking industry so as to be able to establish financial institutions in their countries.

Speaking during the training, TWB Managing Director, Ms Margaret Chacha, said would help the entrepreneurs get the knowledge necessary in initiating various projects like SACCOS and women bank which will liberate women entrepreneurs.

A representative from Somalia and South Sudan, Sahro Ahmed Koshin, said they were pleased by the training which will help them initiate process to establish a financial institution in their country so as to boost income of women entrepreneurs.

The representative from Somaliland is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NagaadNetwork,Nafisa Yusuf Mohamed thanked the Managing Director of Tanzania women Bank for inviting them to Tanzania and give them training on banking issues.

She said the training was vital for capacity building for the Somaliland leaders to help people of Somaliland to overcome poverty.

For her part, Representative from Juba South Sudan, Riva Peter, the Secretary General of Association for women businesspersons said she was delighted by the bank to provide loans to women entrepreneurs and helping them to improve their income.
