We shall not attend any caucus that do not acknowledge our sovereignty

Hargeisa (THT)  The President of the Republic H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud Silanyo has reiterated that the general elections are slated as scheduled hence is duly expected and supposed to be held on time.

The President stated the fact at the Egal International Airport’s VIP lounge as he was jetting out of the country on Friday destined for the UK for a one day British government sponsored Investment in Somaliland Conference.

At the same time he expressed the sentiments that SL would not at any one time attend a caucus that lumps it as a part and/ or parcel of Somalia.

He said that the Danish touted forth coming meeting to be held for Somalia would not see Somaliland’s attendance at all.

He said, “We would only attend such meetings if and when we are invited as a sovereign entity”.

The President who has since reached the UK safely had said that the Oct 14th meeting held for Somaliland by the British expects to bear fruits for the country as far as investments and commerce at international levels are concerned.

“I do expect the outcome of the meeting to be favourable for Somaliland,” said the President before embarking on the plane.

The President was leading the SL delegation which was formally invited to a major investiture meeting for the country by the UK government.

The oil prospectus companies currently licensed to operate in the country are expected to feature highly.
